Molen & Associates Process Update

It is almost tax season again, and we are thrilled for the opportunity to work with you. We’ve been doing this now for over 40 years, and every year we try to improve on our processes to ensure a better experience for you. I wanted to share a couple of updates that will make this tax season even smoother for all of us.

First off, we’re making a few changes to our tax preparation process, in order to provide a better experience for you and minimize the risk for errors and delays. This year, we are requesting four items prior to meeting with your advisor.

1. Your tax documents (upload here)

2. A signed engagement letter (link for individuals) (link for businesses)

3. Intake questionnaire and (link to submit your questionnaire – please submit one per tax return)

3. A deposit (as soon as we receive one of the first three items, we will send you an invoice via email you can pay directly)

When we get your documents in advance, our team can review everything and save time on data entry. That means more time for us to focus on what really matters—helping you with your taxes. Don’t worry – you will still get 1-on-1 time with your advisor to answer questions and go over the return, but this year we will complete the data entry before meeting with you.

This change also allows us to give each of you more individual attention and create longer-lasting relationships. Our goal is to make your tax experience as smooth as possible.

By obtaining these documents before we discuss your return, we can better match you with the right preparer who has expertise in your specific tax situation. This means you’ll leave our meeting with more answers and strategies tailored just for you.

Plus, this new process helps streamline things on the backend. Tax season can get crazy! Our team works late into the night every day during tax season. By having your documents early, we can spend more time on the returns that are actually ready to be prepared by the deadline.

I know change can be a bit confusing or even scary sometimes, but don’t worry, we’ll be here for you every step of the way. To make things easier, we’ve even prepared a video tutorial that goes through how to send us your documents, make the payment and complete the engagement letter, so you’ll know exactly what to do.

Thank you again for trusting us with your taxes. We’re looking forward to another successful tax season together.
