Client Care Package

Secure Your Financial Future with Molen & Associates

In the ever-evolving world of finance and taxation, peace of mind is priceless. At Molen & Associates, we understand the complexities and challenges that come with managing your tax affairs. That’s why we’ve crafted our exclusive Client Care Packages, designed to provide you with comprehensive support, protection, and growth opportunities throughout the year. Our tailored packages ensure that you’re not just prepared for tax season, but also equipped with the tools and expertise to thrive in all your financial endeavors.

Here are the facts:

The IRS sent out more than 14 million automated notices last year. When you receive a letter from the IRS, they will claim you owe them money or claim you didn’t report something properly, which you will have to defend, because with the IRS you are guilty until proven innocent. They have the power to levy your bank accounts and garnish your wages without a court order!

What is the Client Care Package?

The Client Care Package is a form of Audit Protection for the tax returns that we prepare at Molen & Associates. With our Client Care Package we’ll protect you from ever having to deal with the tax authorities by yourself in case you get a notice from the IRS. And if you are ever summoned to meet with an IRS agent in person, we’ll attend on your behalf! Isn’t that a relief?

For a small fee that’s added to your tax preparation invoice, we’ll shield and protect you from having to deal with the tax authorities by yourself in the event you get a notice from the IRS or state tax authorities. And if you ever have to meet with an agent in person, we’ll attend the meeting on your behalf. You don’t even have to go!

Can I opt-out of this protection?

Yes, you can opt-out. However, if you choose to “opt-out” of the Client Care Package, you will be charged our usual hourly rates to handle all notices you receive from the IRS or State questioning items on your return. Without our Client Care Package in place receiving an audit notification will cost you between $3,500-$10,000+ to have a licensed tax professional defend you in court.

Would you go to court without a lawyer? Then why would you face the IRS without an expert.

Choose the Package That Fits Your Needs

Whether you’re an individual seeking to safeguard your tax identity or a business aiming for strategic growth, our Client Care Packages offer the perfect blend of security and advancement. With our expert team by your side, you can navigate the tax landscape with confidence. Embrace the convenience of having seasoned professionals handle IRS correspondence, represent you during audits, and offer strategic consultations to propel you towards your financial goals. It’s not just about compliance; it’s about achieving financial excellence.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What does the package cover in terms of tax years?

The Client Care Package covers the current year tax returns for the standard audit period, which is typically three years. A Client Care package is specific to the tax return that was prepared so prior years are not included. Any returns prepared by another firm are not included. The Client Care Package can only be used on the current tax year filing for original returns, no prior years and no amendments.

Can I enroll in a package at any time?

You can enroll in the Client Care Package anytime from the start of your tax return engagement up until 30 days after the completion of your tax return. All clients are automatically opted in for the Defense package, but can opt out or upgrade if you wish.

What happens if I receive a notice from the tax authorities?

If you receive a notice form the IRS or state tax authority, just send us the notice within 48 hours of receipt for us to handle it as part of your Client Care Package.

Are there any additional costs if I need more services?

Services beyond those included in your package will be billed at our standard rates.

What if I decide to cancel my package?

You have a 30-day cancellation guarantee after signing up for a package. If you change your mind and want to opt out of the Client Care Package, you can do so within thirty days of the completion of your tax return. You can also upgrade or downgrade in this same window of time.

Does the package include representation for all types of audits?

The package includes up to 2 hours of audit representation, which typically covers most individual and small business audit scenarios. IRS correspondence is defined as: response to a notice from the IRS such as CP142, CP2000, CP501, CP503, Letter 12C, and other common IRS letters. Audit preparation & representation is defined as: the analysis of your case, pulling of transcripts, obtaining a power of attorney, as well as discussions with the IRS agent via the phone or in person.

If I opt out of the package, what are the standard hourly rates?

Without the Client Care Package, standard hourly rates for notice handling and other services will apply. Please contact us for detailed rate information. Without the Client Care, the starting price for one IRS letter response is $300.

If I need to amend my tax return, is this included in the Client Care Package?

No, amendments are not included as part of this package. If an amendment is needed in response to an IRS letter, we will guide you through the process to determine if an amendment is needed, but the amendment would be a separate fee and engagement. Additionally, if you failed to provide a tax form as part of your tax return and an amendment were required, the cost to file the amendment would also be a separate engagement and fee.

Key Points to Remember:

Notices from tax authorities must be sent to us within 48 hours of receipt.

To facilitate timely and effective representation, we require that all correspondence from tax authorities, including letters and notices, be submitted to our office within 48 hours of receipt. Failure to adhere to this timeframe may impact our ability to provide comprehensive assistance.

All correspondence should be uploaded to your client portal. For any inquiries or clarifications, please contact us at 281-440-6279.
Your compliance with this requirement is appreciated, as it enables us to address potential tax issues promptly.

We handle the defense, but interest, penalties, or taxes due remain your responsibility.

Molen & Associates provides audit defense and IRS correspondence services as part of our packages; however, we expressly disclaim any responsibility for the payment of interest, penalties, or taxes that may arise from the outcomes of these services. While our efforts aim to resolve tax matters efficiently, any financial consequences resulting from audits, IRS notices, or related actions are the sole responsibility of the client. Clients are advised to seek independent legal or financial counsel for any matters requiring legal or financial expertise.

By engaging our services, clients acknowledge and agree that Molen & Associates, its agents, and representatives shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect financial consequences arising from the resolution of tax matters.

Additional services beyond the package will be billed at standard rates.

Any additional fees beyond the scope of the provided protection, including but not limited to extended audit representation hours, will be billed to you at our standard hourly rates. If additional time is needed beyond the 15 minute consultations, the appointment may need to be rescheduled and incur an additional cost. Clients will be notified in advance of incurring such fees, and explicit consent will be obtained before proceeding with additional services.

The Growth Package includes a one-time meeting with a financial planner and 2 consultations with a tax professional. Additional consultations may be subject to additional fees.

Disclaimer: Any investment recommendations provided during the financial planner meeting are facilitated by a third party. Molen & Associates assumes no responsibility for the outcome of any investment decisions made by clients based on the information provided during the financial planner meeting. Additional fees may be required to engage further with the financial planner to utilize certain products or services.

Can anyone participate in the Client Care Package?

Certain clients with individualized circumstances may not be eligible to participate. Molen & Associates retains the discretion to deny access to the Client Care Package. If there is any open IRS correspondence or audits for the taxpayer at the time of filing, you may not be eligible to utilize the Client Care Package.

How long do the 2 15-Minute Consults stay valid?

As the Client Care Package is tied to each tax year, you have one year from the time of the filing to use these two consultations.
